In July we conducted a workshop entitled: “Sukuk: Challenges … Development and International Practices” in Amman, Jordan, under the auspices of His Excellency Dr. Abdul-Salam al-Abbadi, Minister of Awqaf Religious and Islamic Affairs. Sukuk are the Islamic products that are a hybrid between stocks and bonds. The unsolicited prompt verbal feedback and the completed evaluation forms collected at the conclusion of the event were unanimous in judging the event to be a raving success on all fronts. The workshop underscored BDO’s place on the Islamic Financial Services map.
